Stephanos Mavrokefalos was awarded the LLB from the University of East Anglia (1995) and the LLM (Labour Law) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (1996).  After passing the Cyprus Bar Council Examinations (ranked first) he was admitted to the Cyprus Bar in 1997.

Stephanos was a member of the firm early on in his career, and in 2018 he rejoined the firm as Head of our Corporate Department.  He has more than twenty years of litigation, advisory and transactional experience; advising mainly corporate clients on a wide range of corporate and company matters, insolvency, banking, competition, employment, real estate, insurance, IT and IP.  His multifaceted portfolio includes work for clients spanning a diverse range of industrial and commercial backgrounds, such as satellite companies, telecom and tech companies, mining companies, financial regulators and associations, financial institutions, investment companies, space and aviation industry companies, corporations in the oil and gas sector, retailers and wholesale distributors.

He is a licensed Cyprus Insolvency Practitioner since 2016 and his professional memberships include the Nicosia Bar Association, the Cyprus Bar Association and the International Bar Association.  He was twice elected member of the Council of the Nicosia Bar Association, he was a member of the Intellectual Property Authority of Cyprus, a founding member and Treasurer of the Young and Trainee Lawyers Association of Cyprus, a member of the Judiciary Board of the Nicosia Football Association, a member of Amnesty International and a founding member and legal counsellor of the National Council of the Junior Chamber of Cyprus.

Stephanos has taught Business Law at undergraduate level in Cyprus and has published work in various publications and periodicals, such as:  A Practical Guide to National Competition Rules Across Europe, Kluwer International, 2007; Cross Border Competition Handbook, PLC, 2008-2014; The Public Competition Enforcement Review, Law Business Research 2008-2018.
